Coeliac Safe Food Venues in Western Australia #8

Tomorrow is my birthday so we decided to go and have high tea at a new cafe that we had heard about.

Swan Valley Gourmet Farm Cafe
34 Haddrill Road, Baskerville

They are Coeliac Australia Accredited and their menu includes a range of gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan options.

Hope and I had the GF & dairy free high tea

Sarah, Lisa and Amanda had the GF version
Goats that are penned up

The food was nice and fresh and our only complaint would be that we all much preferred savoury foods than the sweet ones, and would have preferred more sandwiches and quiches than cakes. Saying that it was very enjoyable and except for a slight mix-up with two of the teas with Amanda getting the mint and lemon grass instead of English breakfast (milk doesn't go too well with mint tea), I think we could say that we all enjoyed it.  The cafe has a verandah full of fresh herbs, with ducks, geese, hens and the rooster roaming around free. Thankfully the goats were penned up.It was a beautiful location to sit and catch-up and drink tea.

On the way to our High Tea, the daughter asked if we could detour to this bakery that she had heard about. Now the trip to Baskerville from Rockingham is 143 km return - 1 hour and 5 minutes one way; the trip to Palmyra is 30 km - 35 minutes. So when she said detour I knew we were going to be late and we were - 30 minutes late!!! We left home at  about 10.35am and arrived at 12:30pm.

Panna Artisan Bakery and Patisserie

Quick bread facts:
- All breads gluten free, vegan and free from gums, soy, corn, added sugar and preservatives
- Most grains and seeds used are stone milled in our bakery maximising the nutritional value of breads
- Most loaves are sourdough
- Breads are low GI and suitable for those with multiple food sensitivities

Its a small shop front, but the staff were so nice and friendly. We tasted from the samples available and then if felt as if my daughter bought one of everything (well almost!!!)  I can't wait to try the cinnamon scroll. The shop smelled so nice, we will definitely be going back, it was well worth the detour.
