Leaving Microsoft to Change the World by John Wood
I read a review of this book and thought it sounded interesting. Ordered it through my favorite local library and absolutely flew through the reading. This book makes you feel good about the human race. One person CAN make a difference.
John Wood is a rising executive, working at Microsoft, when he decides to take a well earned break and go trekking in Nepal. He meets and talks to a local resource staff member for the education department in Nepal, and makes a promise to send some books back. With the help of friends and family he managed to take back over 3,000 donated books on his first visit. The rest is history.
He has since set up the Charity - 'Room to Read', which I have added as a link in my list of web sites to visit.
This was a wonderful book to read. I highly recommend it and suggest you visit his organizations web-page to read through all of the amazing things that they have been doing.
