Margaret Glew nee Crooks
Margaret Crooks was born about 1864 in Geelong, Victoria, Australia to William Crooks and Catherine McBride. As much as I have hunted I have not been able to confirm her birth date. She has two siblings whose birth entries I can locate - Robert born 1858, Collingwood, Victoria & John Neil born 1861 in Ashby, Victoria.
She married Samuel Glew, on the 31 December 1884, Nicholson Street, North Carlton, Victoria. Samuel was born 26 September 1864 Brunswick, Victoria to parents John Glew and Abigail Glew nee Allen.
Margaret passed away on the 2 March 1945, in Guildford, Western Australia and her husband Samuel passed away on the 18 May 1944, in Nedlands, Western Australia.
Margaret and Samuel had 7 children that I am aware of.

Married to (1st) Vera Olive Maud Hall born 1892 Kiama, New South Wales. One child from this marriage - Glory Vera Daphne Glew born 11 June 1912, Wellington Street, East Perth, Western Australia. His marriage to Vera was dissolved by Decree Absolute of the Supreme Court of Western Australia on the 16th of June 1921.
Married to (2nd) Dorothea Flynn born 1892 Queensland. While he born 5 children to Dorothea, they were not legally married as he was still married to his first wife at the time that the ceremony was conducted on the 26 December 1914. His children were:Olive Dorothy born 1916, Perth; Ethel Mavis born 1917, Perth; Iris Irma born 1920, Perth;John Joseph born 14 November 1921, Boulder; Edna M born 1925, Perth.
Married (3rd) Olive Myrtle Clark born 4 September 1893 Bendigo, Victoria. They were married on the 9 October 1926, Subiaco, Western Australia. Olive had 5 daughters with Samuel - Betty Gladys born 5 August 1927, Yalourn, Victoria; Roma Margaret born 22 October 1928, Yalourn, Victoria; Joan Olive born 7 March 1931, Yalourn, Victoria; Elaine Myrtle born 31 July 1935, Yalourn, Victoria; Elizabeth born 4 August 1938, Perth, Western Australia. (Elizabeth is my mother)

(3) Evelyn Maud born 1892, Brunswick, Victoria. Married in 1916 to John Bradley.
(4) Ethel Frances born 3 November 1895, Richmond, Victoria. Ethel married 29 September 1920, Perth, to Norman Henry Lloyd. Norman was born 11 November 1895. They had 5 children : Norman William born Guildford, WA; Ethel Margaret born 10 April 1922, Midland, WA; Norma Frances born 10 November 1923, Guildford, WA; Bonita Joan born 16 May 1927, East Guildford, WA; Raymond George born 5 February 1929, East Guildford, WA.
(5) Bernard Ramiro Edward born 17 March 1902, New Norcia, WA. Married to Gladis.
(6) William John born 2 January 1905, Leederville, WA. Married (1st) Dorothy V Courbary in 1934, Perth, WA. Married (2nd) Sheila M O'Halloran, in 1944, Perth, WA.
(7) Benjamin Cecil born 17 October 1899, Brunswick, Victoria. Benjamin was married twice. (1st) to Teresa May Cosgrove born 13 September 1899 and married in 1925, Canning, WA. They had 1 child that I know about - Patricia Frances born 28 March 1926, Subiaco, WA. Married 1936 (2nd) to Eveline Myrtle Meyers born about 1901. They had 4 children that I am aware of: Pearl; Myrtle; Dulcia; Sylvia.
Margaret is my great-grandmother, though at times I do tend to forget this when I am talking about her to a family member. I have been tracing my mothers family tree for so long, I feel as if I have actually met and talked to my ancestors. Wouldn't it be a rare treat to sit down to table with them all and just talk for hours on end. The things they could tell you about your family!!
